E-Bike Rickshaw Rental

The front seats comfortably accommodate 1–2 people, while the rear is used for pedaling and steering. The electric cargo bike (rickshaw) can be used to transport people with mobility impairments. The goal is to take short trips into nature, allowing them to once again experience the flora, fauna, and forests of the local area. This helps further integrate older adults and people with mobility impairments, while also making the work of volunteer companions easier.

Residents of the senior care facility Haus St. Clemens in Fürstenberg can also use the rickshaw for outings. This fosters new connections between young and old, as well as between people with and without disabilities.

In principle, the cargo bike is available to anyone interested in helping others with limited mobility enjoy the great outdoors.

However, before setting off, a training session is required. Gisbert Henkel has received special training in this regard and is qualified to instruct others on how to operate the bike. G. Once this training is complete, the rider will receive the terms of use as well as an additional phone number through which the bike can then be booked.

This is a free service provided by the association “Pro Fürstenberg e.V.,” made possible solely through the financial support of the Sintfeld Energy Foundation and the company Stoffwelten from Lichtenau. Thanks to the support of the recognized senior care facility “Haus St. Clemens” of the Caritas Association in the Büren Deanery e.V. in Fürstenberg, as well as the volunteer work of Gisbert Henkel, the project has now been able to get off the ground.
