Each tree species grows at a different speed and has a different internal structure and hardness. These different characteristics mean that each tree species also has a different sound. Trunks from a spruce, an oak, a poplar, a beech, a pine and a maple are suspended from this dendrophone. You can now tap the different logs with a stick and hear the different sounds of the tree species. You'll be surprised how different they are from each other.
