Westphalian narrow-gauge railroad and steam locomotive museum

The Mühlenstroth steam narrow-gauge railroad can already look back on more than 45 successful years of operation. It gives visitors a vivid impression of the busy everyday life of the numerous narrow-gauge railroads of the past. They opened up rural areas and contributed to the economic upturn of the regions away from the main lines with their passenger and freight transportation.

Here, visitors can experience a small railroad as it was used decades ago. Steam locomotives pull historic passenger and freight trains through the Westphalian countryside. On various operating days, several trains even run simultaneously between the Kleinbahnhof and Postdamm stations. Most of the steam locomotives are operational, with various diesel locomotives and special vehicles completing the fleet. They are maintained with great attention to detail by the exclusively volunteer staff and demonstrated in operation.

Passenger information:
Our trains run from 10.27 am to 5.15 pm, with an interruption for a lunch break from 12.15 pm to 2.00 pm, during which staff and engine take a short break.

Price info

Price adult: €2.50

A ride on the small train costs €2.50. Children under the age of three can travel free of charge.

More information

In addition to the steam and diesel locomotives, the Dampf-Kleinbahn Mühelnstroth e.V. also maintains a number of auxiliary and special vehicles. These include daisies, which add variety to the passenger services. This category also includes machines that make work easier for the club members.
