On the trail of the border crossers

Schnadegang means as much as border walk. The Schnade (border) was walked regularly to check the correctness of the municipal boundary, to clear the markings and to show new citizens the course of the border. This tradition continues today. You start and end the hike with a fantastic view over the quarry at the gateway to the Sauerland. Further highlights such as the Aabach dam, the valley of the Große Aa, the Schützenwiese and the Aa-Platz await you on the approximately 17 kilometers along the old village border

Getting there

A44 Dortmund-Kassel, junction Bad Wünnenberg-Haaren, then continue on the B480 towards Bad Wünnenberg. Take the Bleiwäsche exit and follow the signs to Bleiwäsche.

A33 Bielefeld/Brilon, Bad Wünnenberg-Haaren junction, then continue on the B480 towards Bad Wünnenberg. Take the Bleiwäsche exit and follow the signs to Bleiwäsche. In Bleiwäsche, turn right into the street "An der Kirche".

On the B480 coming from Brilon, take the Bad Wünnenberg / Bleiwäsche exit and follow the signs to Bleiwäsche. In Bleiwäsche, turn left into the road "An der Kirche".
