Old wooded areas, abundant grassland with lots of reeds, tall shrubs and large areas of water together form the nature reserves (NSG) "Bustedter Holz" and "Bustedter Wiesen".

Both are located directly next to each other and are crossed by the Brandbach stream from south to north. The nature reserves cover 82 hectares and are part of the former lands of the historic Bustedt estate. The picturesque manor house is an old, beautiful moated castle and a feast for the eyes despite its proximity to the industrial estate.
