The woods seem to echo with the clanking of weapons and the chatter of soldiers marching troops, mixed with the bellowing of draught animals pulling the heavy wagons of farmers and traders through the hollow paths. Many a merry musician may also have wandered here to offer his services at Falkenburg Castle or Horn Castle. Since time immemorial, people have crossed the Teutoburg Forest, refreshed themselves at the springs and marveled at the vast expanse of land that spread out at their feet. Times of peace, times of battles, of victory and defeat, of wealth and poverty. This hiking trail, which represents Lippe and European history like no other, combines all of this. At the end of the tour, a welcoming place awaits the hiker, inviting them to linger.
