Set off on a foray through our diverse landscape. You can explore the idyllic landscape of the region at a leisurely pace on signposted cycle paths. Cycle past half-timbered houses and historic buildings on gradient-free paths through forests, meadows and moorland.

As with the other cycle trails, the starting point for this cycle trail is the Rahden Museum Farm. From there, the ride continues through the beautiful Rahden parkland to Wehe to the oldest trestle windmill on the Minden-Lübbecke district mill route. The mill is still in its original location and is operational. Grinding and baking days are also held here. Continue via Barl and Langenhorst in the direction of Preußisch Ströhen, from where the NRW North Point is signposted. The Nordpunkt is the northernmost point in North Rhine-Westphalia. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy a picnic here in peaceful surroundings and the cycle path takes you back through the village of Preußisch Ströhen with its Immanuelkirche church in the center of the village and the Kleinendorfer Bruch before you arrive back at the Museumshof.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

It is definitely worth paying a visit to the Rahden Museum Farm, this fully equipped farmstead, either before the start of the trip or at the end. In the various buildings on the estate, you can view old household items and the agricultural equipment used here in the past. This farmstead dates back to the 19th century. On several Sundays and public holidays throughout the year, the museum courtyard hosts special days of action, the so-called grinding and baking days. On these days, visitors can see demonstrations of old farming activities, the horse mill from 1860 is in operation and bread and cakes are baked in the historic stone oven.
