- Start: Delbrück-Hagen church
The Delbrücker Rücken, a glacial terminal moraine, divides the district of Hagen into the settlements of Nordhagen and Sudhagen. The presumably older Nordhagen - a farm on the eastern edge was mentioned as early as 1289 - is a scattered settlement, while Sudhagen is a settlement center. Hagen therefore has no fixed town center.
It is still unclear when the two settlements were united. The village center of Sudhagen was created with the construction of the church.
This is also the starting point of the circular cycle route. The foundation stone for St. Elisabeth's Church was laid in 1923, after which it was completed and consecrated in 1924. After the service was initially held by Paderborn Franciscans and the White Fathers from Rietberg, the parish received its first vicar in 1926. In 1969, work began on an extension to the church, which was consecrated the following year along with its new altar.Follow the signs for around 16 kilometers and you will reach the mini golf course on Sudhagener Straße, which invites you to take your first break. The "Gastliches Dorf" is located very close by.The "Gastliches Dorf" is an ensemble of various originally restored farmhouses from the 16th and 18th centuries, which have been dismantled in various places and rebuilt in the "Gastliches Dorf". It offers the opportunity to admire rarities from bygone times and gain an insight into traditional, old-fashioned baking and much more.
Visit the lovingly laid out farm garden and enjoy the view over the village pond with the peace cannon and geese. Past the carvings, the ecumenical shepherd's chapel invites you to linger. Younger guests will also get their money's worth. The wooden playground is a place to run around and there is plenty to discover in the outdoor enclosure.
From here, continue along Rohlingsweg, Rieger Straße, Flurweg and the connecting path to the Nordhagen settlement. Drive along Lerchenweg, where the Delbrück "Artega" sports car is being built. Via Bösendamm, Fasanenweg, Timmerdamm and Kiebitzweg, you reach Friedhofsweg. Here you will find the Heimathütte with a barbecue area, inviting you to take another break. From here, it is only a few meters to the starting point of the tour.Stop off at one of the local inns during the circular route or enjoy nature with a picnic along the way.Good to know
