At 36.1 km, the Naturschätze-Steig is the longest hiking trail in the Naturerbe Wanderwelt near Altenbeken. Here you can hike almost the entire length of the natural heritage forest with its impressive beech forest stands.

The Natural Treasures Trail takes you on a 36.1-kilometre hike through the entire natural heritage forest. This extensive hiking tour gives you the chance to get to know the special natural treasures of our beech (primeval) forest.

Directions

The Naturschätze-Steig starts and ends at Waldhaus Durbeke. Follow the red-brown markings of the Naturschätze-Steig through the Durbeke and Steinbeke, past the Bauernkamp and Spellerberg, over the Eggeberg and Ebersberg, through the Silberbachtal, past the Lippischen and Preußischen Velmerstot, over Kempen around the Ochsenberg, through the Fuchsgrund and around the Kobbennacken back to the starting point.

Getting there

Coming from Paderborn via Neuenbeken on the L 755 to Altenbeken, turn left at the Durbeke junction.

Parking

There are only a few parking spaces at Waldhaus Durbeke. There are more about 500 meters away at the Durbeke hiking parking lot.

Public transportation

Train journey to Altenbeken, continue with the bus (line R431) or from the station forecourt with the E-bike.
