Horn-Bad Meinberg Touristische Lavendel-Tour

We first take you to the historic "Bad Meinberg Stinkebrink" peat bog in the Napte valley, where you can find out more about the healing moor and its special biological features. You cycle along a narrow cycle path through the Napte valley up to the first small hill, from where you can enjoy the view of the mountains of the Teutoburg Forest and Eggegebirge with the 468 m high Prussian Velmerstot. You pass the Horn city wall with the owl tower and reach the market square. Cycle through small alleyways to Horn Castle with its local history museum.

After the housing estate on the outskirts of the town, you cycle through the wide fields and meadows towards Fromhausen. The access to the lavender fields is already signposted there. Now just leave the Wiembecke valley for a short, steeper climb up to the fields with beautiful views of the Teutoburg Forest and the Hermann Monument.

The return route first takes you back to Fromhausen and then along the cycle/footpath through the fields (former connecting road actually closed to motor vehicles) towards Horn. There you cycle through the small commercial and industrial area past the technical facilities of the three "biomass power plants" in the direction of Horn-Bad Meinberg railroad station. The way back to the starting point leads via Bahnhofstraße to the Bad Meinberg traffic circle and straight ahead into the avenue to the historic spa gardens as the center of the district.
