The A2 hiking trail near Holtheim is an approximately 10.5-kilometre loop that combines stream valleys, forest sections and open landscapes - ideal for nature lovers and walkers who want to take a longer route.

From the starting point on Alter Klosterweg south of the sports field, the route first leads to Hardtweg, then turns right and continues into Schwarzbachtal. Via Dalheimer Straße, the route then runs along the Altenau to district road 24. After a short stretch along the road, the route turns right and follows below the Holtheimer Bach stream back to the starting point;
