The A2 hiking trail near Grundsteinheim is a short 4.2-kilometre loop with sweeping views across the valley.

From the Sauerkanzel viewpoint, the trail first leads west through the village and leaves it via Futterweg. The route then runs parallel to the B68 in a northerly direction to Maiweg, where it turns right. After a while, there is another right fork that leads back to the starting point. The route is ideal for a short exercise session or a relaxed walk with a view.
