The route mainly leads along side roads.
Sights along the route include Wendlinghausen Castle & Gut Wendlinghausen, the village of Bega with village square and farm store including children's play equipment to linger, the Begatal distillery, the Farmbeck cultural station, the Sanderhof with coffee and homemade cakes at the weekend, the disc golf at the Potte in Dörentrup and Schwelentrup and the beautiful playground and rest area at the Alte Stallscheue.
The following points of interest are on the outskirts of the tour:

Innovation Center Dörentrup
The Innovation Center in Dörentrup of the district of Lippe sees itself as a place for development, communication and bundling of measures and strategies. It acts as a think tank for specific future issues in rural areas. It engages in dialog with the population, science and business in order to develop future scenarios and solutions for key issues in rural areas.
Further information on the project can be found at:  www.innovationszentrum-doerentrup.de

Pottkuhle
The Pottkuhle in the Dörentrup Landscape Park is just under three hectares in size and is a lake. The former clay pond is surrounded by trees and is a beautiful place to relax. The water has a rich fish population and is up to nine meters deep. From tench to carp up to 20 kg, eel, pike, zander and catfish, many species can be found.

DiscGolf
Here you can play disc golf on nine courses.  At the Pottkuhle Landscape Park, the course is beautifully embedded in nature. www.tsv-hillentrup.de

Church Hillentrup
The first church was built on this site in 1260. It was completely destroyed by fire and looting in 1424. The host remained intact in the ruins. This made Hillentrup a place of pilgrimage because it was regarded as a miracle. It was rebuilt in 1431 as a small, late medieval church. In 1899, the small church was demolished and a larger neo-Gothic hall church was built. The Lippe Pilgrims' Trail leads past the Hillentrup church.

Stable barn Schwelentrup with play and rest area
The stable barn was built in Barntrup-Wierborn in 1694, dismantled by the Detmold Open-Air Museum in 1972 and rebuilt in Schwelentrup from 2003 to 2006. The rustic playground and rest area in the Schwelentrup spa park next to the stable barn, designed with tree trunks, boulders, rocks and hills, invites you to enjoy a cozy picnic in nature.

Sika deer enclosure
In the fenced-in area on both sides of the Eselbach stream, you can observe the rare sika deer, closely related to the native fallow deer. The offspring and the rutting season in the fall are particularly impressive experiences.

Jewish cemetery
The Jewish cemetery is located on Sibbentruper Straße not far from the railroad overpass. It was listed as a historical monument in 2009. The cemetery was established shortly before 1850 and documents the existence of Jewish citizens who belonged to the Barntrup synagogue community. Five gravestones have been preserved on the small lawn, which is surrounded by a hornbeam hedge. A small gravestone shows the year 1946, a larger one made of polished granite bears the inscription Kaufmann Katz... 1894.

Hofladen Schweinerei
The Ehlert family's farm store offers delicious pork, soft ice cream, coffee specialties, regional products, a children's playground, benches to linger on and chickens to pet.

Schloss Wendlinghausen
With its unique architecture, Schloss & Gut Wendlinghausen is one of the most magnificent Weser Renaissance buildings from the beginning of the 17th century. The estate enchants with its unmistakable charm at castle festivals, weddings and conferences.

Gutshof Brennerei Begatal
The Gutshof Brennerei distillery in Humfeld is well worth a visit. Here, organically grown produce is distilled by hand into gin, juniper, vodka and fruit brandies with Lippe stubbornness and a pioneering spirit. The Begatal estate distillery carries the regional "Lippe Quality" seal of approval. The family business grows many old varieties of fruit, juniper and herbs on the orchard. www.gutshof-brennerei-begatal.de

Landeseisenbahn
The Lage-Hameln railroad line via Lemgo and Dörentrup was completed in 1897. This was a great advantage for local companies and the Dörentrup sand and clay works in particular experienced an unexpected boom. When passenger services were discontinued in 1980, only freight trains ran. The Landeseisenbahn Lippe e.V. association has maintained the line on a voluntary basis since 2005 and runs monthly regional trips between Extertal-Bösingfeld and Dörentrup.    www.landeseisenbahn-lippe.de

Bee Experience Trail
The Bee Experience Trail in Schwelentrup aims to highlight the vital importance of bees for ecology and the environment. In the bee house, you can experience a mini colony in the experience showcase and the everyday life of two bee colonies. The trail leads along various flowering spots with planting variations that can be used as inspiration for your garden or balcony at home. www.natourenergie.de
