The A2 hiking trail near Dalheim is an approximately 9-kilometre loop through forest, stream valleys and nature reserves, ideal for a varied half-day hike.
Starting from the town center, the trail initially follows the road "Am Heyersberg" northwards and turns right into the forest below the arboretum. At the crossroads at the 13-Linden-Hütte, the route turns right in a southerly direction to the district border, where it turns right again and continues through the Piepenbachtal valley. Passing the Apfelbaumgrund nature reserve and the Dalheim cemetery, the route leads back to the starting point in the village. A visit to the monastery and a stop at the monastery restaurant round off the hike.
