The A1 circular hiking trail near Lichtenau-Blankenrode leads along a varied 7.3-kilometer route through forests, stream valleys and historic sections of the Egge landscape.
The tour starts from the hiking parking lot at the Hörmuseum and heads east along the Eggeweg. At the level of the former deserted town of Blankenrode, the trail heads south through the tranquil Klingelbach valley, past the soldiers' graves and under the A44 to the rainwater treatment plant. From there, the trail heads west through the Wäschebachtal valley and continues along the Bleikuhlen. The return route leads through the village of Blankenrode back to the starting point.
