This circular route shows the contrasts that the district of Herford offers. Urbanity meets rural seclusion and tranquillity. From Bad Oeynhausen, you first cycle leisurely through the Sielpark and along the Werre. After passing through Löhne, the route then climbs up from the river valley to the Eggeberg, which offers a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside towards Herford and Löhne. A rest area offers the opportunity to recover from the climb. This is followed by a long descent down to the Mittelbach stream, which drives the water wheel of the Rürupsmühle mill. On the grounds of the mill, which has been lovingly restored by the "From Grain to Bread" association, you can linger by the mill pond or explore the farm garden. The route then leads along the Mittelbach stream to the "Park of Magical Water", the Aqua Magica. The park was created for the State Garden Show in 2000. From there, you will reach the starting point of the tour in the center of Bad Oeynhausen shortly afterwards.
The route leads almost exclusively along roads with little traffic, independent cycle paths and asphalted farm tracks, some of which are closed to through traffic. This means that the circular route is also suitable for families with children.Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the Herford district cycling leisure website: www.fahr-im-kreis.de.Waypoints
