The A1 hiking trail south of Schwaney is a short, approximately 3-kilometre loop that is ideal for a relaxed stroll along the Ellerbach valley.

From the old forester's lodge, the trail first heads south along the Eiser Weg. After crossing the "Rotes Wasser" stream, the route turns right, then right again towards Ellerbachtal. From here, the path runs parallel to the stream back to the starting point. The route is easy to walk, mostly flat and offers a peaceful natural backdrop along the stream.
