Over the centuries, the farm has undergone all the changes that were typical of agricultural development. Before farming was abandoned in 1985 as part of the general structural change, an area of over 30 hectares was farmed. The land was used to produce fodder for the farm's more than 40 dairy cows and their offspring.
Over the centuries, the farm has remained in the family. After several changes, the family name Rolfeß evolved into the current name Rohling.
The dedicated owners of the farm café, which opened in 2000, are Gabi Hartkämper, née Rohling, and her husband, Franz-Josef Hartkämper. Their mother, Irmgard Rohling, also continues to look after their well-being. The children of the family, who are now the 10th generation on the Rohling farm, also actively support their parents.
