Wesertor

Bridge

Wesertor

The medieval Weser Gate was located at a central point in front of the bridge over the Weser

.
It was erected around 1230 in connection with the construction of the city wall and was demolished in 1716 when the fortress was later extended. The medieval town gate was located in the area in front of the house at Bäckerstraße 68. Originally, the street was half as narrow at this point. The new department stores' buildings in the mid-1970s significantly changed the street layout here.
