Foundation of Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper....
Foundation of the first Pieper soap store in Bochum, Rottstraße 6, by Gerhard Pieper and his mother Anna Pieper. However, 1931 was a year of crises, of unemployment, in which the founding of a company required a great deal of hard work and true pioneering spirit. Even today, it is still an admirable achievement that was accomplished in the early years of the company's foundation.
1931The first branches
Even if it was associated with difficulties: the branches at Wanne-Eickel, Hauptstraße 246 and Recklinghausen, Breite Straße 16 were founded in 1936. The advantages of branching out were recognized early on.
1936There's something to celebrate
An important date: In 1939, our company founder Gerhard Pieper celebrated his wedding to Maria Glockel.
1939Dark times
Bombing and forced expropriation. The only business remained in Wanne-Eickel. On 28.08.1943, the progenitor - our current boss Gerd Pieper - was born.
1940-1945A new beginning
Re-establishment of the Herten branch, Kaiserstraße 61. Re-establishment of the second store in Recklinghausen, Kunibertistraße, and foundation of the Herne branch, Bahnhofstraße 41.
1953-1968A new face
Introduction of the current boss, Dipl.-Kfm. Gerd Pieper joins the company.
1969Remodeling work
Remodeling of the Herten branch, founding of the Gelsenkirchen branch, Bahnhofstraße 22, expansion of the Wanne-Eickel and Recklinghausen branches, opening of the Wattenscheid branch, Oststraße 22.
1970-1974Losses
Far too early death of company founder Gerhard Pieper. The company is continued by wife Maria Pieper and her son Gerd.
1976Change of generations
Sole managing partner and owner Gerd Pieper.
1978Expansion
Steady growth now takes its course. With a total of 111 perfumeries in NRW and 3 perfumeries in Hamburg. High-quality fashion is offered in 12 perfumeries and exclusive lingerie, swimwear and nightwear in 6 perfumeries. Over 125 cosmetic booths, fingernail and medical pedicure studios round off the range of services.
1979-2006The next generation
The 4th generation - with sons Dipl.-Torsten and Dr. Oliver Pieper - is already ready to take over the family business.
2008Pieper goes online
The Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper is awarded the German Retail Prize in the category "Management Performance of Medium-Sized Businesses".
The company does not rest on its laurels: In the same year, Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper goes online. On November 6, the Pieper online store is founded.
80 years of Pieper
The Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper celebrates its 80th anniversary with more than 1200 employees, including 140 trainees from 14 nations at 115 locations.
A highlight in the anniversary year: the opening of the new store on the "Kö" in Düsseldorf. "The Kö stands for luxury and exclusive brands, it is the crowning glory of my entrepreneurial career," says Gerd Pieper.
Hello PARFUMgeflüster
Since July 1, Dr. Oliver Pieper has been Managing Director alongside his father Gerd Pieper.
In the same year, Hamburger Hof Parfümerie, which was taken over by store owner Gerd Pieper in 2000, goes online. On November 1, the luxury online store PARFUMgeflüster is founded (www.parfumgefluester.de).
The end of the year is crowned with an award: In Germany's largest consumer survey, customers voted Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper as Retailer of the Year 2012 (survey of 9,810 consumers between May 14 and November 14, 2012. Retailers with at least 7 stores were selected. More information at www.retaileroftheyear.de).
Pieper opens the Beautyforum
The new openings in Paderborn and Meppen will expand the store area. Continuous modernization of existing stores and the expansion of the store network will also be part of the strategy in the future.
And the headquarters of Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper is also expanding. On August 1, 2013, the "Pieper Beauty Forum - the training center" will be opened. From now on, it will offer plenty of space for staff meetings, sales staff training, annual meetings with business partners and other events.
The success of the previous year continues. In 2013, customers once again voted Pieper Retailer of the Year (online survey of German consumers from June 27 to October 30, 2013. 72,043 ratings in 25 categories. Pieper meets Brenner

With the acquisition of Parfümerie Brenner, Pieper is expanding its store network by 12 additional branches. The new stores are located in Melle, Herford, Rietberg, Bramsche, Lengerich, Osnabrück, Bünde (2x), Lübbecke, Minden, Wiedenbrück and Sulingen.

After a renovation phase lasting several weeks, the Hamburger Hof Parfümerie on Jungfernstieg in Hamburg opened its doors and shone in new splendor. Over 600 guests attended the big pre-opening event on the evening before the opening date.
The success of previous years continues. In 2014, customers voted Pieper Retailer of the Year for the third time (online consumer survey in Germany in the period 22.04. - 15.09.2014, conducted by Q&A Research BV. A total of 138,322 ratings in 29 categories. Choice of retail chains with at least 7 stores in Germany. More information at www.haendlerdesjahres.de).
An award and the conquest of Hamburg
In the study "Success factors in e-commerce - Germany's top online stores", conducted as a customer survey by ECC Cologne, the family-run company Pieper wins in the "Cosmetics & Drugstore" category. In the overall ranking, Pieper took second place, just behind Musikhaus Thomann, also a family business.

The Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper GmbH conquers Hamburg. Where it previously read "Gänsemarkt Parfümerie", it will now read "Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper" above the entrance to the store in Hamburg's Gänsemarkt Passage. The name change comes after a four-week renovation phase and underlines the new look of the exclusive perfumery, which has been owned by the Pieper family since 2001.
Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper: a name that stands for personal and competent advice from a family business steeped in tradition - and has done so since 1931. One of the business philosophies is to tailor the goods to the individual wishes of the customers and to be the "most beautiful store in town". As an exclusive sales partner, Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper presents "Knowledge by RUB" - the first fragrance from a university. In collaboration with the team around the fragrance researcher Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. med. habil. Hanns Hatt and Geza Schön, one of Germany's best-known perfumers, this fragrance was developed at the Ruhr University Bochum. Knowledge by RUB combines science with fragrant nuances to create a unique fragrance experience. Findings from 20 years of olfactory research have flowed into the creation.

The Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper GmbH is conquering Hamburg. Where it previously read "Gänsemarkt Parfümerie", "Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper" will now stand above the entrance to the store in Hamburg's Gänsemarkt Passage. The name change follows a four-week renovation phase and underlines the new look of the exclusive perfumery, which has been owned by the Pieper family since 2001.
A special year - 2016
2016 is a very special year for the family business: The 85th anniversary is being celebrated. The motto for the anniversary year: "Parfümerie Pieper, 85 years....for me!". With the simple addition "for me", the family business wants to emphasize what is particularly close to its heart: The customer is always the focus at Pieper. A personal relationship with customers and individual and expert advice are essential for the company's 85 years of success.

After more than 50 years of family ownership, the Goldkopf perfumeries are being sold by the Reuter family. From July 1, 2016, Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper will take over nine branches of the family business.
November 17, 2016
One highlight: the opening of the second Hamburger Hof perfumery. In addition to the Hamburger Hof Passage on Jungfernstieg, there is now a second location of the exclusive perfumery in the Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum (AEZ) in Hamburg.

01.07.2018 The long-standing managing partner of Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper GmbH, Gerd Pieper, has handed over sole management of the company to his son Dr. Oliver Pieper on his 75th birthday.
2019
After the successful fragrance "Knowledge by RUB", the matching body care line consisting of a body lotion and a shower gel was launched.
2020

The online store is undergoing a comprehensive relaunch. The user interface is very user-friendly and the search for your new favorite product is now even more intuitive.

The Hamburger Hof opens another perfumery on around 500 square meters of retail space on the ground and 1st floor. At Neuer Wall 57, customers can look forward to high-quality beauty products and luxurious niche fragrances.
2021
The 90th anniversary is being celebrated! The motto of the anniversary campaign is "Making the world a little more beautiful". Especially in challenging times like these, the aim is to offer customers a successful change from everyday life and "make their world a little more beautiful".
