Before you start your tour, it is worth visiting the redesigned Steinhagen town center with its market square and church square. You should grab an ice cream from one of the two ice cream parlors to start your tour.
Under Steinhagen's landmark, the Steinhäger Kruke, the team of the Steinhagen Historical Museum awaits you. You then start your tour at the centrally located parking deck on Brinkstraße, which first takes you around the town center in the direction of Ströhen. On your right, you will pass the idyllic Austmannshof mill. It is one of the oldest and richest farms in the settlement of Steinhagen.
The route continues past the Steinhagen equestrian center and the Westfalenhof stud farm. Now you cycle through the charming "Deterings Wiesen" nature reserve with its 32 recorded breeding bird species.
From here, it is worth making a detour to the center of Isselhorst. The Clüsener Anno 1878 factory with its impressive brick building is well worth a visit. The historic restaurant "Zur Linde" near the idyllic church square invites you to linger. Right next door is the fire department museum with a private collection and the large Elmendorf barrel from 1902 can be admired. A few meters further on is the Elmendorf distillery, which has been extensively restored. It's definitely worth a look!
The route then continues to Brockhagen. Shortly after entering the village, you will find the only hydroelectric power station in the municipality of Steinhagen, the former "Sussieks Mühle". In the center of Brockhagen, the Protestant St. George's Church awaits you with elements of the Weser Renaissance on the west tower.
The route now leads through the largest contiguous forest area in Steinhagen. After you have passed the Patthorst estate, you can stop off at the quaint "Café Hexenbrink" at the weekends. You then cycle on towards Steinhagen back to the starting point.
