The Schiedersee, also known as the Schiederstausee or Emmerstausee, is the largest body of water in Lippe, measuring 3.5 km x 500 m. It offers a variety of leisure activities for people of all ages, including outdoor recreation, water sports, exploring historical sites and culinary delights. The SchiederSee has something for everyone.
2. BAUERNBURG OTTENHAUSEN
The stonework, also known as the Bauernburg, was probably built in the 13th century and served as a storehouse and shelter for the villagers in the Middle Ages. In the 20th century, the building was saved from decay through extensive renovation between 1981 and 1982, after it had previously been used as a sheepfold and was in danger of collapsing.
3. HISTORICAL SPA PARK BAD MEINBERG

The 6.25-hectare historical spa park is one of the oldest mineral and mud spas in Germany. The park was laid out in the late Baroque period from 1767 and features a fountain temple and the spa theater, which seats 698 people.
4. NORDERTEICH
The Norderteich is an artificial lake near Billerbeck, which was created by damming. It was first mentioned in 1115 in the estate register of Corvey Abbot Erkenbert and is considered the oldest nature reserve in Lippe. Monks once created the twelve-hectare pond to breed fish.
5. "STINKEBRINK"
The Bad Meinberg sulphur moor has been mined for therapeutic purposes since 1820. It has vitalizing, regenerating and anti-inflammatory properties and is used to treat various illnesses and in beauty care. The site can be visited during guided tours and the natural peat treading pool is open to the public.
