Directions

You start at "Rila erleben" and follow the signs ST 2 towards Levern. Passing the fully restored and operational Kolthoff farm grist mill, you reach the historic center of the monastery town of Levern. On a small elevation, between the Stemweder Berg in the north and the Wiehgebirge in the south, lies the over 1000-year-old collegiate village of Levern. It is located on the half-timbered road in the middle of untouched nature.

The route continues through a beautiful marshland, the so-called "Leverner Teich". Take care when crossing the L 770 at the Reddehase inn. Take the ST2 circular route in the direction of Sundern through the shady "Ippenburg spruces" back towards the starting point "Experience Rila".

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Every first Sunday from April to October, the grinding and baking day with a musical program takes place at Kolthoff's Hofmahlmühle. Try the oven-warm Platen cake, lard breads and freshly brewed coffee.
