Directions

From the starting point at the "Noak's Pumpe" hiking parking lot, hike counter-clockwise across the open space to the Mittelberg. After the first stage of the hike, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Senne. The route then takes you up via the Kösterberg and the Heimat forest estate and into the Lippspringer Forest. The trail then leads you back to your starting point through the "Steinbeke" valley.

The fact that some river courses disappear in the Eggegebirge region and reappear elsewhere is due to the karstification of the limestone. So-called swallow holes form in this fissured rock, in which the water seeps away and can continue to flow underground. This can be observed, for example, in the Steinbeke. This has its source in the Bielsteinhöhle nature reserve and flows into the Lippe south of Lippspringe.
