Following the course of a river from its source to its mouth in the open sea is always something special. However, the Ems Cycle Path offers a unique experience: there are practically no gradients on the approximately 385-kilometre tour. The Ems Cycle Path is therefore also ideal for beginners. This tour tip describes the second stage from Marienfeld Monastery near Harsewinkel to Telgte in Münsterland.

The Münsterland parkland is on our cycling program with this stage. Starting from the Marienfeld monastery near Harsewinkel, we follow the still young Ems through the consistently flat terrain. Many paddocks and riding stables accompany us on this stage until we finally reach the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud in Warendorf. The old town of Warendorf is a great place for an ice cream or coffee break before continuing along the Ems again on the second section to the old pilgrimage town of Telgte.
