On the 10.5 km hike, you roam through the Eggewald forest in the Buke district. Part of the trail runs parallel to the Eggeweg, the first German hiking trail to be awarded the title "Quality Trail Hikeable Germany" in 2004. Shelters and benches along the way invite you to linger. You can start this tour in a relaxed manner: travel comfortably by bus from Paderborn or Bad Driburg, there is a bus stop right at the start/finish point.

Directions
Start your hike at the village square in Buke. First, head towards Altenbeken via Orthagen and the cycle path along Hüttenstraße. Then turn right through the tunnel into the Hossengrund until you reach the Eggeweg. Follow this for a long time, continuing via Krummer Esel to Heinrich-Mertens-Platz, also known as Buker Pilz. There is a good picnic spot here. Continue along the Hartmannspfad. Then turn left into Holtenbrügge. You return to the village square via Schwaneyer Straße and Hühnerfeld.
