Brake Castle
Brake Castle is an important architectural monument whose architectural history stretches from the 12th to the 19th century. Brake Castle was extended from 1584 as the residence of the Counts of Lippe in the Renaissance style. It is surrounded by a moat and stands on the foundations of one of the largest medieval castles in northern Germany. The striking tower makes it a landmark of the old Hanseatic town of Lemgo that can be seen from afar. The buildings in the immediate vicinity of the castle still convey an impressive image of an early modern residence, including the domain, three historic mills and a wash house.
Weser Renaissance Museum
The current permanent exhibition in Brake Castle, which is supplemented by special exhibitions from year to year, is intended to explain the various aspects of art and culture between the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War in northern and western Germany with more than 600 exhibits. It offers a wide-ranging overview of Renaissance culture, especially in the Weser region, over an area of around 2,000 square meters.
Pottkuhle
The Pottkuhle in the Dörentrup Landscape Park is almost three hectares in size and is a lake. The former clay pond is surrounded by trees and is a beautiful place to relax. The water has a rich fish population and is up to nine meters deep. From tench to carp up to 20 kg, eel, pike, zander and catfish, many species can be found.

Here you can get a glimpse of the impressive landfill cover made of photovoltaics.
Next to the Helsiek landfill near Detmold, it is unique in Germany and produces a lot of electricity.
