The Köterberg is not only the highest elevation in Lippe, it also offers the most beautiful panoramic view of the Teutoburg Forest/Eggegebirge, the Lipper Bergland and the Weserbergland. Nature park guides Elke Schäfer and Elisabeth Scheel explain its special history as a border mountain between two federal states and three districts and point out unusual natural features. The evening atmosphere with an impressive sunset is always a great experience. The sun slowly disappears behind the Teuto at around 9 p.m.
As the temperatures on the summit are always a little cooler, we recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing and good footwear. Food, cushions or blankets for the sunset should be brought along.
