A variety of habitats unfold along the route. The Bürmsche Wiese offers insects a sheltered retreat, while the adjacent orchard attracts bees and hedgehogs. The Ölbach stream, which meanders through the landscape, serves as a spawning and breeding ground for amphibians and insects. A diverse water landscape has developed at Lake Verl, which was created by sand extraction. The historic mills, which used to be powered by the Ölbach stream, are also closely linked to the habitat. The Bunte Mühle mill and the village mill in particular are reminders of the centuries-old use of water.

The hike covers 8.5 km with 10 meters of elevation. The level of difficulty is medium, the paths are easy to walk on, but can be slippery when wet.
Bring sturdy shoes with treaded soles suitable for the weather. The tour is not suitable for strollers and is also not suitable for people with limited mobility.
