The Senne and the Furlbach valley are habitats with exceptional diversity. Along the route, you will discover sandy inland dunes with heather, alder groves in damp hollows and sparse pine forests. The Furlbach, a crystal-clear heath stream, winds its way through the valley and provides an important breeding ground for rare species such as the bullhead and the brook lamprey. With a bit of luck, kingfishers and dippers can be observed in the dense vegetation along the banks. The Bentteiche ponds, created by historical peat extraction, are now valuable refuges for amphibians and dragonflies.
