Der Astronaut - Project Hail Mary

Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on board a spaceship - far away from his home on Earth and without any memory of his identity or the reason for his journey into the vastness of space. Slowly and fragmentarily, his memories finally return. He realizes not only that he was once a science teacher on Earth, but also that he plays a central role in a race against time and that he probably has an extremely critical mission. A mysterious substance is threatening the continued existence of the sun and thus the survival of the entire human race. To prevent a global catastrophe, Grace uses his scientific knowledge and develops unusual solutions. During his journey, he also comes across a surprising connection that shows him that he may not be alone in his fight.
