Bewaldeter Graben einer alten Wallburg bei Gellinghausen; von herbstlich gefärbten Bäumen umgeben.

The best-preserved hill fort in Westphalia.

A steep mountain spur rises strikingly above the Altenautal valley and the Burdahl, which flows into it at an acute angle. On this mountain spur, protected on three sides by the steep slopes, lie the mighty fortifications of the Gellinghausen Wallburg, also known as Hünenburg.
The Wallburg can be reached via the Archaeological Hiking Trail.

The castle is characterized by a main and outer bailey surrounded by mighty ramparts up to 5 m high and moats up to 8 m deep.
