Visitors can experience historical lessons based on the old Prussian school regulations of 1872 at first hand in the village school built in 1815 in the Riege district. 

 Here, the Hövelriege/Riege village community has set up a historic classroom in the old village school, which is now a listed building. Exhibits from all eras of school history are on display in several exhibition rooms, including the "Golden ABC", a unique sight in the whole of Westphalia.
