Cycling along meadows and rivers on the edge of the Hellweg. Charming landscapes along the Lippe and Heder invite you to relax and linger in Salzkotten. As a highlight, the route also passes the Winkhausen cultural estate and the ruins of Vernaburg Castle.

You can enjoy wonderful cycling in the charming countryside along the southern bank of the River Lippe and on both sides of the River Heder. On the 20-kilometre route, you will explore the villages of Holsen, Schwelle and Winkhausen, known humorously as the "United States". Directions

Ausgangspunkt ist der Bahnhof Salzkotten. Über die Verner Straße und Ferdinand-Henze-Straße/Berglar entlang des Sa 5 (Sundern) in Richtung Verne zur Bartholomäus-Kirche (Besichtigung). Zurück bis Abzweig Verner Holz, rechts ab (Sa 2 folgend) fahren Sie in nördlicher Richtung nach Langenhagen. Über den Enkhauser Weg geht es nach Holsen. An der Holser Heide fahren Sie links über die Holsener Str. und anschließend rechts über den Sa 2 zum Schweller Damm. Ab „Zum Vosswinkel“ folgen Sie der Beschilderung der Paderborner Land Route vorbei am Kulturgut Winkhausen (Besichtigung). Über die Straße Am Holz gelangen Sie zunächst zur Vernaburg (Burgruine) und weiter zu Schluss zu Ihrem Ausgangspunkt, dem Bahnhof Salzkotten.
