description: "The Senne is characterized by sandy soil that reaches up to 60 m deep. The typical landscape features heathland, moorland and forests. The heathland once covered the entire Senne. Past larches, birches, beeches and pines, the trail takes you through various nature reserves with different vegetation. The Benteiche were created by clay excavation, which was needed for the production of roof tiles. The path leads past the raised bog, where cotton grass nods to the hiker in summer. The view from the Sennerandweg / Lönspfad during a rest at the \"Senneblick\" refuge of the Augustdorf local history association leads south and southwest into the Senne (\"Sinedi\" = old heathland). In the north-east, the Lippe Senne extends as far as the former Prussian-Lippe border river \"Menkhauser Bach\", in the east it is closed off by the Fürstenallee between Kreuzkrug and Schlangen. In the distance is the \"Mäuseturm\", also known as the \"Haustenbecker Turm\", which is still the tallest building in the Senne."

The Senne is characterized by sandy soil that reaches up to 60 m deep.
The view from the Sennerandweg / Lönspfad during a rest at the "Senneblick" refuge of the Augustdorf local history association leads south and southwest into the Senne ("Sinedi" = old heathland). In the north-east, the Lippe Senne extends as far as the former Prussian-Lippe border river "Menkhauser Bach", in the east it is closed off by the Fürstenallee between Kreuzkrug and Schlangen. In the distance is the "Mäuseturm", also known as the "Haustenbecker Turm", which is still the tallest building in the Senne.
